Today is the two hundredth anniversary of Charles Dickens' birth. I learned something new about Dickens today -- his work was originally published as serial fiction, in a variety of magazines, then later bound into books after all of the installments were out. Check out this PBS article for more on that.
I'm intrigued by the serial format, especially in the digital age. I have a couple of ideas that may lend themselves to the format nicely, but I need to learn more about it and let those ideas develop for a while before I attempt something rash. :)
Vicki Keire's Daughter of Glass is being published by Curiosity Quills Press as a serial. I've read the first installment, and it's great. I can't wait to get back and read the next chapter. A new chapter is coming out each week; this week will be the fourth. Check it out.
